1. Who we are
Handle Hunter ("we", "us") operates the username availability scanner at this site. Handle Hunter is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Contact: barronlouie08@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — email address and sign-in credentials, used to create and secure your account.
- Usage data — scans you run, filters chosen and results, used to provide and improve the service.
- Technical data — IP address, device/browser identifiers and log data, used for security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting.
- Support data — messages you send us, used to respond to you.
Payment details are collected and processed directly by Paddle (our Merchant of Record); we never see or store your card numbers.
3. Why we use it and legal basis
- To provide the service and manage your account — performance of a contract.
- To keep the service secure and prevent fraud — legitimate interests.
- To improve the product using aggregated usage data — legitimate interests.
- To respond to support requests — performance of a contract / legitimate interests.
- To meet tax, accounting and legal obligations — legal obligation.
4. Who we share it with
- Service providers and subprocessors that host and operate the service (cloud hosting, authentication, error monitoring).
- Paddle, as Merchant of Record, for the sale of the product, payment processing, tax compliance and invoicing.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) where needed.
- Authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal data. Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.
5. Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as long afterwards as needed for legal, tax and accounting obligations. When data is no longer needed it is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your supervisory authority. To exercise any of these, email barronlouie08@gmail.com — we respond within one month.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and run the service. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; essential features may stop working if you do.
